Quilt Ministry for the Sick

Prayers and Squares Quilt Ministry is an outreach ministry with over 1,000 non-denominational chapters nationwide. The ministry combines the gift of prayer with the gift of a hand-tied quilt  Each knot represents a prayer said for the person to whom the quilt will be given – someone with a long-suffering illness or a personal crisis (cancer diagnosis, stroke, accident, etc.). The goal is to show God’s love to others through these quilts and to help them know they are not alone and that we have prayed for them

St. Mary’s chapter began in 2017. We have already given out over 1,000 quilts. We meet on the 2nd Tuesday in odd numbered months of January,March, May, July, September, November. (except for December, July and August) at 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM in the new Parish Center. We invite you to join. You do not need to know how to sew, as there as various tasks associated with preparing the quilts, especially tying knots and saying a prayer. You are welcome to request a quilt and take it to your friends, family or group for prayers to add to the prayers we will have said for the person in need. There is no charge for the quilt.
