Manuel Gutierrez del Toro was born in Tamazula Jalisco, from the marriage of Mr. Ricardo Gutierrez del Toro and Mrs. Rosalba del Toro Vargas, being the 4th child out of 13 children, 7 girls and 6 boys.
He grew up on his parents’ farm, where he dedicated his time to raising cattle, cultivating bees and cultivating the land.
He had a very happy childhood surrounded by nature, because the farm was in a very remote place and to get to the nearest town, he would travel 8 to 9 hours on horseback.
He received the values of faith and love to our Blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary, in the bosom of the family, since the Rosary was prayed every day before going to sleep. At 5 years of age, he already knew how to lead the Holy Rosary and at the age of seven, he made his 1st Communion.
At 17 years of age, he emigrated to the city of Baytown, Texas, where he actively integrated into the parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe, where he participated in various parish ministries and where he would later discover his vocation. On August 28, six years later, he joined the seminary in Monterrey, Mexico.
He graduated from the University of Monterrey, Campus San Pedro. He received a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Information and Communication.
Manuel Gutierrez also received a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Archdiocesan Seminary of Monterrey and a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from the Franciscan Theology Institute.
