The First Saturdays Devotion, also called the Act of Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, according to Sister Lúcia of Fátima, was requested by the Virgin Mary in an apparition at Pontevedra, Spain, in December 1925.
For Frirst Fridays, when Our Lord appeared to St. Margaret Mary in 1673, He promised to grant 12 special favors to all those who practiced devotion to His Sacred Heart: On the first Friday of nine consecutive months: Receive the Eucharist on each of the First Fridays, devote the First Fridays in honor of and in reparation to His Sacred Heart.
At St. Mary, we will celebrate the first Friday each month after the 8:00am Mass.
In December of 1925, Our Lady appeared to Sister Lucia, giving her the following guaranty of salvation for those who complete the First Five Saturdays Devotion: “I promise to assist them at the hour of death with all the graces necessary for the salvation of their souls."
On the first Saturday of five consecutive months: Go to confession, receive the Eucharist, pray five decades of the Rosary, keep Our Lady company for 15 minutes, meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, devote the day to the intention of making reparation to Our Lady for the offenses to her Immaculate Heart.
At St. Mary, we will pray the Flame of Love Reflective Rosary and celebrate the first Friday each month after the 8:00am Mass.
